Focusing on recent political and administrative interventions, this report examines the expanding practice of appointing trustees to municipalities in Turkey and its direct impact on workers’ and trade union rights. Drawing on legal analysis and concrete workplace data, it documents dismissals, anti-union practices and the erosion of collective bargaining under trusteeship regimes, highlighting how these interventions undermine local democracy and organised labour.
